The Loniest Bush in the Desert

So my family and I were out in the middle of the desert and it was rainy and not so much fun for a while. I found a bush just sitting all by itself and wrote a poem. YES! It is really sappy, but I was feeling rather saplike.
Here’s the poem. Don’t laugh…

Rain came down atop the sand
It dripped from my nose and on my hand
From near to far I saw this tree (couldn’t find a word that rhymes with bush)
It looked as if it felt like me
All wet and gray
Alone and blue
But it stood proud and true
All wet and gray
By itself it stood
I felt happy again
Just like I should.

Here’s a clip to show you my inspiration:

Buttwood and a great geocache

Need I say anything more?
Ok, I’ll say more. I shot this when we stopped somewhere in Wyoming. Clay couldn’t stop laughing about it, of course. I’ll try and post more weird stuff we found along the way ;) BTW, we found a geocache in the desert on a different leg of our adventure and just want to say, it was one of the best one's we've found. You can learn more about it here.

ovah heeeyaw!

Gobble Gobble!

The big turkey day is tomorrow with the whole family. Am I thankful? Of course I am, even if my brother annoys me to no end and my sister is something more than annoying. Despite all that, I'm thankful that we do things together as a family. We've been places and done things that most families don't ever get to do. I'll share more of that in my next few posts. Especially stuff from our last trip...we ended up finding something that brought us closer together as a family (ok, you can barf now).

Anyway, I found this video this morning. Thought it would be a nice alternative to the normal turkey dinner (it's a mustard marinade). YUM!

My brother Clay is the most typical little boy you could ever meet. If it can be thrown or smooshed he will gladly oblige. My family and I were recently camping in the deserts of Arizona/New Mexico and i was rolling. This one will be perfect to show his first girlfriend...mwahhahahahaaaaaaaa!

Be Like Me

If you want to see what we did out in Grand Teton National Park, it was basically what was in this article.

(You have to get a free membership to see the link, but it’s fast and totally worth it).

There’s a whole bunch of easy trails to check out. Not that we did just easy ones when we were there, but like the article says, sometimes it’s nice to just walk, rather than get out all the gear and freeze-dried spaghetti and ramen noodles.

Death in the family

My Mom is very sad. Please be respectful when watching the video I shot.

In other news, Summer is going to copy me once again! She's getting a Myspace account. In my opinion, that's the easy way to go. I understand...poor girl doesn't even know basic HTML! hahaha More on this later.
