CRATERS OF THE MOON

So my question to all of you is this: Have you ever been to a place that real life astronauts have visited? You are probably saying to yourself, no, I have not! Or else maybe you’re saying yes but we both know that if you say yes you’re a big LIAR! :-)

Well my friends, I Victoria Elizabeth Mudd am planning on going to the moon! Well, sort of…Craters of the Moon National Park :-) And yes, real-life astronauts have been there. Don’t believe me? (http://www.nps.gov/crmo/astronauts.htm) So, all I have to do is convince my Dad to add this to the itinerary of our family trip. Which shouldn’t be too hard to do if I tell him astronauts have been there.

It’s either that, or we go check out the volcanoes in Oregon. Found a good article on it from one of my fave outdoor writers (http://outside.away.com/outside/destinations/familyguide2002/volcano_tour_1.adp). If you ask me, volcanoes are a little played out. Nothing a little paper maché, a toilet paper tube, white vinegar and some baking soda can’t achieve. Although, the class-V rapids there have some appeal.

Anyway, I am SO going to bug my Dad to take us to Craters of the Moon, starting tonight at dinner. Wish me luck, ‘k?
